Geriatric Gazette Published for the Surfers Corner Sixties reunion to be held on Friday 19 March 2010 Corner locals from far and wide confirm that they will be attending the reunion

The organisers of the Surfers Corner Sixties reunion report that their switchboard and email server have been jammed with calls and messages by long lost Corner Cronies from all over the world. Confirmations of attendance have been received from as far afield as Australia, France, Canada, USA and Canada. Unconfirmed reports have been received that a contingent is also expected from a remote region of Africa ... Cape St Francis!!

Tich and Craig Paul of Lifestyle Surf Shop have pledged cash support and will be joining us together with their partners and guests Ronald Rink of Puma Clothing has offered product as prizes for the most outrageous “clean” story told on the night , best mover on the dance floor and the best rendition of a sixties song by a “non professional” Bev and Lizette take note !!

Paul Botha of Life's a Beach Communication for volunteering to to the Media of this event "pro bono" Ant Adler of has pledged a cash donation (Ant was the shaper for Penguin Planks in the sixties) Rudi Kurt of Paarl Gravure for printing some emergency posters for immediate distribution Gary Surf School run by the famous W.P. longboarder Gary Kleynhans has promised us some prizes for the biggest “Bull Sh!$@#r*” of the evening Bev “The Surf Queen” Swimmer has pledged a case of wine to any guy at the event who is able to drink her under the table; he must also be very good looking. We don’t know if that’s before or after she starts drinking? Brin Lockitch has donated two gift vouchers valued at R180 each for Body Stress Relief treatments at his practise. Martin Rosen of MV Media is picking up the tab for printing 500 posters so that everyone can take a commemorative copy home. Sponsorships required To make this event the best ever we need more sponsorship as no entry fee will be charged to “invitees” nor to sponsors and their guests.

Please let us have your assistance with any firm commitments from sponsors. We don’t require names, we need real commitment. We would all be stoked if someone produces commemorative T Shirts from the picture on our poster W.P. Longboard Club will be running the Bar The members of the W.P. Longboard Club have offered to run a “cash bar” for the evening. All profits will go to the Club which will assist them to send a strong team to S.A. Longboard Champs in P.E. and Seal Point later this year.

Documentary film being produced Carlos Feyder, who produced the stunning poster for the event, is busy producing a commemorative documentary film which will be premiered at the reunion. He also intends having a roving cameraman at the event to record each of your “clean” stories and these will be added to the documentary. Photo’s and Film from Sixties required We have had plenty of promises of film footage and photo’s but to date only a few people have actually responded. Charlie gets in the Groove After a restful few weeks in Elands Bay our co-organiser is back at work and is rounding up the band members for some practise. Jimmy Moffat will be doing the vocals, Charlie on drums and Paul de Villiers on guitar and vocals. Next Edition In the next edition ... Two well known veteran W.P.
